Call Free with Google Voice

25 Aug

Amazing news!

Google has now produced Google Voice which is like Skype when it comes to calling but nothing like it because you can call anywhere in the U.S and Canada for free to any landline and mobile phone with Google Voice! International calls are however not free.  I tried it a few moments ago and I must say I loved it!

You must have a Google Account to use this feature.

I called my mom and then I called my friend in South Dakota. Amazing! A Pop-Up window shows at the bottom of your screen similar to the video and regular chat windows and presto a dial pad is shown and you just have to enter the number either by pressing the numbers with your mouse or by typing them in with your keyboard.  The quality was amazing! And best part is that it does not cost you a single penny.

So you have Gmail–well the “Call Phone” is directly linked with all your contacts in your address book for emails! All your calls are kept in a history folder by clicking on the little mini clock shown in the pop-up or by viewing your called credits for international calls. A sweet deal in case you can’t find your cell phone!

I am sooo excited about this feature because I was so worried about paying to use Skype for calls now, but all I have to do now is dial U.S. and Canadian numbers on my laptop and start talking to my computer. Can I say once more– FREE! Oh the magic in the computer world!

James Cameron brings Avatar to the box office…AGAIN

21 Aug

I just saw a commercial that the movie Avatar is making a come back to a theater near you and it will be in 3-D once more on August 27th. Katey Rich from CinemaBlend.com projects that this riveting move by Cameron is another “cash grab” effort.

This is another cash grab, of course, but you can choose whether or not you want to be excited about it. I for one really liked Avatar, and even though I saw it three times in its first theatrical release, I wouldn’t mind jumping back into that immersive movie experience.

I must say this is extraordinary! I never and my mom can agree with her experience that a movie once out of theaters would be going back to the box office. WOW! I am excited because when I saw Avatar for the first time, my imagination was encapsulated by the soul and spirit of Cameron’s expansive fantasy world of Pandora. What an adventure this is going to be again.

According to Rich, the movie is going to have 8 more minutes added to it. And my hunch is that something bigger is coming our way and there just might be a sequel.

Even though this could potentially be another “cash grabbing” effort by Cameron, I say inspiration and motivation simply flooded back into Cameron’s life and he needs to express his true vision of what this movie means to him.

I respect that this is happening. Who knew a movie could go through the box office and then be such a hit then add footage and take it to the people once more. I say it is a smart move and this talk show host wants to experience the movie all over again. It deserves another watch.

And to leave you with some words of wisdom from Katey Rich–

It’s your call as to what you choose to do on August 27, but I think you know where you’ll be able to find me.

And that will be the truth for me as well. I will catch all of my wonderful Avatar fans at the box office once more! Hey who wants to paint each other blue and get some yellow eyes? We can share some skittles too!
