Certified Crystal Healer

9 Oct

Oh, yes!

Bernard is officially certified in crystal healing thanks to Margaret Ann Lembo, author of Chakra Awakening: Transform Your Reality Using Crystals, Color, Aromatherapy & The Power of Positive Thought. For a five hour workshop at Journeys of Life in Shadeyside, Bernard and his executive board for The Human Element, a newly found student group on campus devoted to love and acceptance, entered a realm of Universal Laws, Color, Chakras, Crystals, and Aromatherapy. All basics that are mentioned in Chakra Awakening. (Purchase the book by clicking on the image)

The new age shop was lit by the early morning light and as we got out of the taxi cab, I knew instantly that this place would become my new safe haven away from trouble and despair. We entered the store like any other store, but something seemed to wash us clean. It eventually became a hot spot for all walks of life like ourselves to come and learn about the ancient ways as the bustle of the day awakened even more. After we checked ourselves in for the Crystal Healing workshop, I noticed just how fun, vibrant, and miscellaneous everything looked. But as I quickly assimilated to the cosmic air there was indeed a method, an order, to where everything was placed. There was a Halloween section, Egyptian section, candles, oils, salt lamps, and my favorite… crystals!

I plummeted to the ground immediately when I saw the assortment of crystals and gemstones. I later learned in the class that we can use those terms interchangeably, thank goodness because I was wondering if there was a difference. It is all about your preference. We always have choices as it was clearly stated by our teacher. Well, there were your common crystals like quartz and amethyst to your more intricate structures like pyrite and lapis lazuli snuggled in their little plastic compartments. All fairly priced I will say, which made me even more giddy with joy. Everyone in the group was flowing to every place in the store and it remained that way until we had to go.

After we browsed the store of every nook and cranny we could find, it was time to meet the one and only Margaret Ann Lembo and let our minds soak up her wisdom and knowledge that she carries from all over the world. Like a stream of energy each participant walked up the stairs, but this time the sight of books, tarot decks, magazines, and light hugged our eyes and even mine as big as they were from seeing a new floor could not pull from the gripping sight of books. Another money snatcher from my wallet. I just love my books.

Because there was no time to stop and sniff out the best books, I and the gang went to the classroom that was conveniently located next to a little kitchen and the bathroom. Time just evaporated after that and light poured into all our souls and the room was filled with peace and love. Something quite extraordinary to experience in a room full of strangers. But us being in that room on that very day, could mean that we’ve interacted with those beings before just in a different lifetime. so are they really strangers?

I’ve learned about the universal laws of everything being energy and energy vibrating. Thus in turn everything affecting everything else. I also learned more in depth that we have an aura which is made up of our past lives, memories, and chakras. Chakras were described in class like spinning wheels of light that actually don’t stick out like cones in front of your body, but like a hoola hoop around your body. This was a pretty sight to feel. Like any pretty sight, usually there is color. Color was mentioned in great detail, because each chakra has a different color and there are 7 chakras.

Root- Red

Navel- Orange

Solar Plexus- Yellow

Heart- Green/Pink

Throat- Blue

Third Eye- Purple

Crown- White

This bond between chakras and color pave the way to match specific crystals to each chakra. Margaret did a very good job in teaching us how to remember the crystals and in what ways they can be used for healing based on chakra teachings. For example, if you are in a situation where you need to work with someone or some people you would rather not soak up or digest their draining energies, then wear or surround yourself with the crystal of amber. This gemstone clearly defines what is your space and what is theirs. Because we are all vibrating energies, some of us are overly powerful than others. In using amber along with the Solar Plexus chakra which is about ingesting life both physically and spiritually this combination will help you balance the situation to deter any negativity.

Even though the class must end at some point, I was really moved to purchase Chakra Awakening, Smudge in Spray (a helpful mist to banish negativity), and a little vial of Auntie M’s Anti (natural anti-Bernard-Getting-Sick tool) all part of Margaret’s product lines to help people transform their own realities. I did get a chance to talk with her one on one and she immediately sensed my passion and drive and interesting enough she was swept away when I told her I am aspiring to become a talk show host.

“Will you let me be a guest on your show?” She asked. I did not have my business cards at the time, so I made a cute makeshift card and wrote down that she was amazing and yes she will be welcomed to come onto my show. I only allow genuine and life changing people to come on, so of course she fits the bill. The experience is worth posting on The Bernard Charles Show because it is another example of how my personality just shines through wherever I go. I know it will get me to where I need to be because even Auntie M. herself said so…

“Bernard, Unlimited potential and your powerful dynamic personality will catapult you to great heights! Blessings, Margaret Ann Lembo”

An early morning flight

5 Jan

As I toss and turn in my sleep about Oprah Winfrey giving a message to my class, a little unknown creature was stirring about above me in my bedroom ceiling. I managed to drift away from befriending Oprah and my eyelids flung open as soon as that animal flew right above me and onto my door frame. We always had encounters with animals and my mom keeps the animal kingdom very close to her heart. Hence all those camping trips and family vacations to the national parks. Yes, my family I guess you can say loves animals. No wonder why we have five dogs and a parakeet. Life’s little enjoyments I suppose.  Along with the family connection to the beasty world out there, we adore superstitions. More so my mother and I, but the kids have picked up on the freakiness too. Not saying WE are the freaks, I am just saying that the “coincidences” are a bit freaky. Well, two months ago, after I made my surprise visit to my mother for that wonderful Thanksgiving surprise, we did have two parakeets, but the white one died. Before that, we had a yellow-butter cockatiel named Popcorn, and we also had a Guinea pig. They both died at the same time. So this white bird dying on us wasn’t really so far from reality, but it was white and it died in our house so that incident leeched onto my mother’s spiritual self. But because we are aware of our thinking processes, she and I both know how to combat such metaphysical intuitions like these, we simply don’t think about it or in anyway jinx ourselves or the ones we love.

I gingerly moved my arm and hand to reach for my phone to not scare off this little brown sparrow on my door, and I captured a picture and the sound it made scared it off and it flew right down the hall. So I quickly got up and went down the wooden hall and took this picture:

Pretty snazzy if I do say so myself. Well, it then flew right out and back to my bedroom door and decided to be funny and fly right at me. I ducked faster than a prairie dog and yelled out to anyone who was downstairs getting ready to go to school “It flew at me! It flew at me!” But no one came, so I had the bright idea of capturing the little fella and taking ‘em to my mommy. So I went into my brother’s room nearby the bathroom and grabbed his Spiderman blanket and proceeded to open the bathroom door ever so slowly. There it was hopping around on the window sill wanting to escape this human infested contraption. I then raised my arms as high as I could reach and tried to block the bird from leaving the window. I reached over and cupped the tiny sparrow into my blanket protected hands and failed. Yes, I failed at getting him into my hands more than once. Why you ask? Well because I did not want to hurt him so I tried once more with more confidence and then I succeeded! I opened my shaking hands of thrill and excitement just a little to let the bird have some air and then I proceeded downstairs following the jovial sound of early morning conversations that my mother, my brothers and their friend were having.

This awakened sly cat with a grin from ear to ear bearing the successful capture of a wild bird in his claws entered the room. There my mom was with her blonde locks of hair mimicking the light of the room as she played with her blue robe talking to my brothers, dressed in the same sky blue shirt and khaki uniforms like two goofy twins along with their friend that can only be described as a disshoveled tea-mouse with his Einstein like hair going every which way. I walked in at the right time! I tippy-toed over to my mom in such delight and told her “Here you go.”

She countered me around the kitchen island and said “No.”

“It’s not a bat!” I replied eagerly waiting for her dramatic exit.

She smiled and looked at me as if she was fine with surprises again. She leaned forward in curiosity and then I knew she was ready so I opened my clutch a little wider and shouted “I caught a bird!”

In our family we believe in superstitions like some people believe in religion. But, we awe at the wonderment of life’s coinky-dinks as my mom calls it because life’s magic is so much cooler than being told what to do by an authority figure. Sometimes painting the roses red instead of white is much healthier than battling it out with a royal highness that can’t see the true meaning of the heart in the first place. So my mom let the bird go and we all washed our hands for safety reasons, but it has certainly started out my day with an adventure.

The superstition for a bird flying into your home is foretelling an important message.

My Holiday Read

30 Dec

When all is lost and there are books to be read then let the rebel inside come out to sing its song.

With the Christmas lights coming down and the tinsel being placed back into storage, I am feeling quite sad and depressed that the holiday season is coming to an end and a new year is just zooming around that corner. Sometimes all good things must end, but new adventures shall begin, that’s what I say to myself nowadays. These are merely Early morning thoughts as I sit here in a Scrapbooking room, feigning images in my mind that it is my home office instead of my mother’s creative haven for all of her joyous craft gadgets a plenty.

Certainly beyond the early morning blues, I am doing one thing that is taking me on one of those new adventures!  I am reading a book called Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. This book is the final book of THE HUNGER GAMES trilogy and by golly she has swept me off to a place full of rebellion, war, love, and tales of government secrets! Oh how I love her wonderful storytelling skills. I am half way finished with the book, I did buy it back in September when it was a huge rave and rant about it making its debut appearance on shelves and into people’s homes, but I have been so busy tailoring my life that I let it just collect dust on top of my dresser. My apologies Ms Collins. But better late than never! I need to find out what happens with the heroine of the novel Katniss Everdeen because I can relate to the free spirited, witty, always on fire soul that Suzanne Collins has transformed so well in her books. Katniss brings warmth to her districts’ people, and Collins shares her imagination with her readers once more.

THE HUNGER GAMES trilogy is certainly at the edge of your seat kind of trio and must be read with devotion, because it brings out the rebel inside of everyone. It did for me!
