Martin is Out and Proud

29 Mar

Okay so Ricky Martin came out of the closet?

What is the big deal?

Well, I guess because he waited so long. And the point in that? Well, he did not feel ready yet. And the point in feeling ready. Well in order to feel as though you are ready with who you are, you should feel as though you can count on people for trust and acceptance.

Yeah, not everyone is going to trust or accept you but guess what HOMOSEXUALITY is something that is coming of a new era that does trust and accept.

What angers me is that people are making a big deal out of nothing. Seriously, yes he was inspired by his two twin sons. What a dad! Yay!

I just feel as though people need to move on from it. Learn from it. People are people no matter where you go.

*Wink* I want to see what kind of comments I receive. Yes, that is your cue to leave your opinion about HOMOSEXUALITY right here on the show!

Support Milton Hershey School 100 Years

22 Dec

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is my own high school and I am proud to be a member of the MHS community.

Now MHS is celebrating it’s 100 years!!! Happy Birthday MHS.

In celebration for the 100 years that Milton Snavely Hershey and his philanthropic efforts have shown, MHS has well known figures across the nation to represent the MHS Centennial like no Milt has ever seen before.

A Teacher’s Gift

22 Dec

Today Whoopi, Joy, Sherri, and Elisabeth from The View, had some opinions on this hot topic!

Should teachers get money/expensive cruises/Visa® Gift Cards?

No wonder why this was a hot topic! Traditionally for many families, gifts for teachers were/are cards, candles, and edible items like candy and fruit. What happened to the good ole’ days?

Well, personally I do not approve of teachers receiving money or these expensive gifts. Honestly, a good teacher may deserve these bonuses, but the essence of Christmas should be reserved to more domestic household elements. The meaning of Christmas is from the heart, not from your wallet.

I would probably keep in contact with my teachers that have made an impact on my life and then I would, if I had the funds, give them a more expensive gift within reasonable appreciation. I am simply amazed that these teachers ask for such expensive things.  I am aware of the economic situation in the US, but tradition and integrity should supersede such commercialization that goes on during the Holiday seasons.

Joy Behar from The View ,a former teacher, comments*

Teachers are like civil servants. Much like a mail man, cannot receive money as a gift. The city/government pays them to serve the civilians of the state.

*I was so engrossed in the show that I wrote this after the discussion was finished. So, I paraphrased Joy’s statement.
