Free KickOff Event!
November 6, 2010 started the Steeltown Film Factory’s free kick off event with a panel discussion featuring Pittsburgh native David Conrad, actor in “Ghost Whisperer” and “Wedding Crashers” and Kim Moses, 6-time Emmy winning Executive Producer, writer, and director for “Ghost Whisperer,” and “Profiler” and Joe Batteer, writer, producer, and editor of “Windtalkers” and “Blown Away.” The discussion was moderated by TV writer and producer of “Saved By The Bell” Carl Kurlander who moved from Los Angeles back to Pittsburgh and appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” solely due to his leave from Hollywood to home. The auditorium was full of claps and admiration as the panelists told their unique stories of how they managed success and even some joyous moments took place at the end when Conrad took the microphone to interview a kid in the front row about his favorite ice cream, TV show, and what he wanted to be in the future.
The kick off event was tremendously fascinating and I hope you as a screen writer will take advantage of this opportunity.
