My Holiday Read

30 Dec

When all is lost and there are books to be read then let the rebel inside come out to sing its song.

With the Christmas lights coming down and the tinsel being placed back into storage, I am feeling quite sad and depressed that the holiday season is coming to an end and a new year is just zooming around that corner. Sometimes all good things must end, but new adventures shall begin, that’s what I say to myself nowadays. These are merely Early morning thoughts as I sit here in a Scrapbooking room, feigning images in my mind that it is my home office instead of my mother’s creative haven for all of her joyous craft gadgets a plenty.

Certainly beyond the early morning blues, I am doing one thing that is taking me on one of those new adventures!  I am reading a book called Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. This book is the final book of THE HUNGER GAMES trilogy and by golly she has swept me off to a place full of rebellion, war, love, and tales of government secrets! Oh how I love her wonderful storytelling skills. I am half way finished with the book, I did buy it back in September when it was a huge rave and rant about it making its debut appearance on shelves and into people’s homes, but I have been so busy tailoring my life that I let it just collect dust on top of my dresser. My apologies Ms Collins. But better late than never! I need to find out what happens with the heroine of the novel Katniss Everdeen because I can relate to the free spirited, witty, always on fire soul that Suzanne Collins has transformed so well in her books. Katniss brings warmth to her districts’ people, and Collins shares her imagination with her readers once more.

THE HUNGER GAMES trilogy is certainly at the edge of your seat kind of trio and must be read with devotion, because it brings out the rebel inside of everyone. It did for me!

Hello Hollywood & Reality TV!

28 Dec

Since winning PrilosecOTC(R)’s official sponsorship competition, Bernard, Official TV Host has been scouting unique opportunities to further his career network and education and the road of Google searches has led him to an awards ceremony and convention in Los Angeles unlike any other event because it has everything to do with REALITY TELEVISION. From the singing circus of American Idol to the flames of Hell’s Kitchen, Bernard will be attending this unique event and visiting California for the first time!

I am really excited to be going to this awesome event! I have emailed so many times saying thanks and hoping to secure my name and hopefully getting an “in” with the reality TV stars and producers! Who knows–Ellen could be there!

The Reality Rocks Awards are open to the public to attend and see which reality show has won the eyes of reality TV fans across the world. Also the attendees will be able to attend workshops  and have the chance to get autographs from their favorite reality TV stars! Not to mention awesome prizes for simply voting!

When I found this site, I kept voting for so many shows like The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Pawn Stars and it was a complete thrill! After online voting  was done for nominating our favorite shows, the coordinators of this event gave out fan prizes to all the top fans who were devoted to voting and I was one of them! I was contacted by their staff and they asked if it was okay to do a profile about me for their site! Why would I not take that offer! I gave them my information and two days before Christmas a package arrived in the mail and it was from L.A.–I knew instantly that it was my prize…I won an American Idol TV table tray.

Reality TV is making a new wave of excitement and why wouldn’t this industry that depicts a little drama not be honored with awards and fanhood devotion.

You can certainly attend the event if you are a reality TV buff like Bernard by going to REALITY ROCKS AWARDS. Also check out Bernard’s own Reality Rocks PAGE and leave a comment!

Call Free with Google Voice

25 Aug

Amazing news!

Google has now produced Google Voice which is like Skype when it comes to calling but nothing like it because you can call anywhere in the U.S and Canada for free to any landline and mobile phone with Google Voice! International calls are however not free.  I tried it a few moments ago and I must say I loved it!

You must have a Google Account to use this feature.

I called my mom and then I called my friend in South Dakota. Amazing! A Pop-Up window shows at the bottom of your screen similar to the video and regular chat windows and presto a dial pad is shown and you just have to enter the number either by pressing the numbers with your mouse or by typing them in with your keyboard.  The quality was amazing! And best part is that it does not cost you a single penny.

So you have Gmail–well the “Call Phone” is directly linked with all your contacts in your address book for emails! All your calls are kept in a history folder by clicking on the little mini clock shown in the pop-up or by viewing your called credits for international calls. A sweet deal in case you can’t find your cell phone!

I am sooo excited about this feature because I was so worried about paying to use Skype for calls now, but all I have to do now is dial U.S. and Canadian numbers on my laptop and start talking to my computer. Can I say once more– FREE! Oh the magic in the computer world!
